Order to Comply

Order To Comply

Orders to comply are usually associated with slope failures and failing retaining walls.

An order to comply, when issued, is essentially an order to correct a code violation.

A code violation can simply be a grading, or any other construction activity in process or completed without a permit. A natural occurring event, like a surficial slope failure, can create a dangerous condition allowing the city to issue an order to comply. The city/government agency will cite the property owner and request that the unpermitted feature/structure or dangerous condition be corrected. In the case of an unpermitted grading activity, the agency will want the site restored to its original condition or will request that a permit be obtained. This is very involved, requiring the services of a Geotechnical Engineer. Please contact us to help you resolve any order to comply.
